In 2007 the town of Upton upon Severn experienced floods that damaged many businesses and livelihoods around the town. The Swan Hotel was one of those worst affected. Eventually work commenced to restore the building and business and in March 2008, almost 12 months after the flooding Ralph and Sue Thompson opened the Hotel's doors. The Thompsons, set about rebuilding the Hotel's already good reputation. A remarkable task as Sue was the only one with any experience of the licensing trade. However, never undaunted,
